Super Cute House...

So many times I see a house and start to imagine what the inside would or should look like.  I saw this house and immediately thought it should have a fun, quirky and eclectic style a la Kate Spade.  So here is my vision for what the inside could look like!

The idea of a graffiti couch is genius for me.  With 6 kids under 10 this could keep them off the walls.

It's Been a While...

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I have a pretty great reason.  Five weeks ago we welcomed Ava Brooks to the world.  She is our sixth so we have been pretty busy with her and with school starting for our other children.  Ava is such a wonderful and pleasant little baby.  Her middle name is Brooks, which is my grandmother's maiden name.  We used it in her honor because Ava was born on her birthday!

Thanks for your patience!  I look forward to getting back to blogging!

Inspirational Home

I am so loving this home! This is the home of Kristin, fellow blogger, from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia. Her blog is great and her taste is impeccable. Every single detail in these rooms is fabulous. Her color choices, the flow, the furniture selection and the decor items. I could go on and on, but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. And the above pics certainly attest to that!

Dare To Dream!

Living in a hundred year old house certainly comes with its charm.  Old gorgeous stained glass windows, fabulous fireplaces and original woodwork.  All that enticed me to purchase an older home.  What I miss is a large walk in closet!  I am such a visual person (obviously!) that I would love to see all my shoes and bags and clothing laid out in front of me.

For most people an old house provides them with an extra smaller bedroom that would work perfectly for a walk-in closet.  However, with #6 on the way I think it would be difficult to convince the hubby to let me use an extra room for my clothes while tripling up the girls.  So one can only dream for now!

The Fabulous Antique Barn in Westfield

We were fortunate enough to spend the 4th at the lake! I so love it up there. It is so relaxing and a genuine "time out" from the craziness of home. Of course while there I had to hit my favorite antique shop, The Barn in Westfield. I have shown some of my fabulous finds from this wonderful shop. As you can see from the pics above, Eileen, the super cool and sweet owner, has amazing taste, and really something for everyone. I was so happy to see her place was jumping with customers.

While there, I decided to do her show at the end of July. I can't wait. She will have several different dealers on site. I hope I don't spend more than I make! I also hope I don't go into labor since it is only 2 weeks before my due date. I will post more details as the date gets closer. (About the show, not the labor :) )

I Love Outdoor Rooms!

I so love outdoor spaces.  Little patio areas with fabulous seating surrounded by lush gardens, does it get any better?  Every summer I plan to do something fabulous with mine, but life gets in the way.  On occasion we get to sit out there with the cafe lights lit and drink some wine with friends, but it is too far and few between.  My goal for next summer is to make sure our patio is comfortable and inviting so it just becomes second nature to congregate out there.  The above photos are my inspiration.

Happy 4th of July!

I have always loved Independence Day!  Even as a child.  Maybe it is my patriotic spirit or the amazing 4th of July's I have had throughout my life, or a little bit of both.  I always tear up at the Start Spangled Banner, and I feel a great thrill of pride when I watch the fireworks knowing what they represent.

I love this country, I love being an American and all that we stand for.  With that said, I would be remiss not to give a shout out to our troops and their families.  For without your sacrifice we would not be the country we are and we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms we have.

As we spend the 4th celebrating with our families let's take a moment to remember their sacrifice and keep them and their families in our prayers!  Here's to you military men and women, and here's to the USA!
